Professional Learning Community

A professional learning community (PLC) is a group of educators committed to working collaboratively in ongoing processes of collective inquiry and action research to achieve better results for the students they serve.

This STELLAR route has an operational budget* of up to $500, requires a minimum of 15 hours contact time per educator, and takes place within a defined period of time. 

Sample STELLAR professional learning communities, with a focus on mathematics education, may include but are not limited to:

a. specialized book clubs,

b. a grade level cohort,

c. a family of schools cohort.

* Budget may include: Substitute teacher costs up to a maximum of 1 teacher for 1 day; Materials/Resources up to a maximum of $500. All monetary values stated are in Canadian dollars. Please do not make STELLAR-funded purchases through a school account. Reimbursements can only be made directly to individual educators, not to school accounts.
