Self-directed Learning
Through a self-directed approach, educators independently explore resources that support and enhance their identified professional learning goals in mathematics education. This STELLAR route has an operational budget* up to $500, and takes place within a defined period of time.
Sample STELLAR self-directed learning opportunities may include, but are not limited to:
a. professional reading - books, subscriptions to journals, etc.,
b. webinars,
c. online courses/modules which are not eligible for a mathematics bursary,
d. research projects.
* Budget may include: Substitute teacher costs up to a maximum of 1 teacher for 1 day; Materials/Resources up to a maximum of $300; Registration fees up to a maximum of $500. All monetary values stated are in Canadian dollars. Please do not make STELLAR-funded purchases through a school account. Reimbursements can only be made directly to individual educators, not to school accounts.
